The Scotsmen, Scottie had so much courage, that he would even go to battle with his master! 

Scotties are good guard dogs!

This is the rough terrain, that Scotties had to go over or under. When they were out hunting in Scotland.

The ancestors of our Scotties developed in the rugged Highlands of Scotland. Highlanders, concern was the dog's ability to rid the harsh land of vermin.

The Scottie must wind his way through miles of clefts and crevices, the walls of which will not yield to tooth or claw. The battle is his alone. He must, unaided, drive his prey into the open or fight the battle underground without hope of help from human hands. It is well that his hide be tough and clothed with a cushion of bristling hair, his muscles strong and his frame elastic; for, as he follows his prey among the crevices. with shoulders and danger of the narrow cleft through which he crushes with shoulders and ribs only to feel the deadly grip of relentless rock.

Scotties, will attack a lion or tiger if his rights are invaded, and tough he may die in the struggle he never shows the white feather or runs away.  He is the most admirable of all sports, forthright, brave and uncomplaining.  You know exactly where you stand with a Scottie; and if you are a friend, he is gentle, loving and protective."  To me the Scottie is the dog of dogs, all dogs are good; any terrier is better; a Scottie is BEST!  Nobody seems to fall madly in love with a Scottie at first sigh, but nobody can live in the same house with him a week and not love him.  Scotties are like potato chips, you cant just have one!
